“Financial Literacy Matters Project”

Introduction

Financial Literacy Matters is a youth-led grassroots initiative supported and mentored by Vox Tua Foundation, which has been empowering youth leaders since 2018. This year, the foundation is proud to back Yani Ovcharov and Daniel Borisov, two passionate students dedicated to promoting financial education across Bulgaria.

The project targets youth aged 14 to 24 and aims to inspire over 1,500 students to understand and appreciate the importance of financial literacy. It does so through three main components: a national survey campaign, a finance and economics competition, and an educational conference.

Goals

The goal of the project is to equip young people with knowledge and confidence in handling their personal finances. Whether it’s saving, budgeting, investing, or understanding economic systems, the project promotes skills essential for navigating adulthood and contributing positively to society. Through direct engagement, student-led events, and real-world applications, participants are encouraged to become financially informed citizens.

Structure of The Project

1. National Financial Literacy Survey

All youth between the ages of 14 and 24 in Bulgaria are invited to participate in a brief 5-minute online survey. The purpose is to gather insight into current financial knowledge and attitudes among students and young adults. The results will help shape future learning activities.

2. Finance and Economics Competition

A national competition will challenge participants to test their financial literacy, logical thinking, and understanding of economic principles. The competition will include real-life financial scenarios and offer prizes and certificates to top performers.

3. Educational Conference

An engaging and inclusive event that will feature guest speakers, workshops, and interactive panels. Topics will include personal finance, economic trends, and career paths in business and finance. The conference will empower youth by connecting them with professionals and encouraging peer collaboration.

The Team Running The Project

The initiative is led by Yani Ovcharov and Daniel Borisov, two ambitious and socially responsible students who are passionate about education and change-making. With guidance from Vox Tua, they are taking bold steps to make financial literacy accessible and engaging for young people all over Bulgaria.
