ABOUT US

Every idea rooted in social change is a result of experiences and people that inspire it. Vox Tua as an organization did not come to fruit until 2018, but the experiences and people that gave birth to it came together between 2011 and 2013, while Luis Lomeli was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Gorna Oryahovitsa. During his two years in Bulgaria he was an English Teacher and a Project Manager for a Roma organization.

The combination of being a teacher, running international projects focused on education and minorities, and his community became a millstone for Luis to understand the critical need in Bulgaria for more grass-root platforms, resources, challenges, experiences and opportunities for young adults in Bulgaria to allow them to push the boundaries of innovation, creativity, activism, social responsibility and social-economic growth to allow them to be the best they can be; because everyone is good at something – everyone can contribute to the betterment of its society.

Vox Tua was founded in Sofia, Bulgaria, in November of 2018 by seven young professionals committed to social change in the youth sector. We believe that our different backgrounds, experiences and points of view will contribute to a strong foundation that will enrich Vox Tua to thrive and add long-term value to the development of youth in Bulgaria and also internationally. Our priority as founders is to improve the lives of young people.

The mission of Vox Tua is to engage, educate, empower, support and develop youth to advocate for equality, quality of life, diversity and socio-economic growth in their communities.

Vox Tua’s Core Values are: Community, Leadership, Authenticity, Success, Collaboration and Creativity.
